Slow, Low, and Brutally Truthful; Thunder Horse gives Southern Sludge Metal a new twist. Thunder Horse is an in your face project of long time touring veterans and seasoned musicians. All four members have a long history of friendship with a chemistry that was right to break ground on something new. An eclectic background of influences and styles are what sets Thunder Horse apart from the pack. Thunder Horse oozes influences of soulful guitar driven southern metal and hails inspiration from the iconic bands that inspired them to be musicians. It’s hard to pinpoint their genre, but Classic Doom, Heavy Blues and Guitar Driven Rock-n-Roll are easily identifiable in their debut self-titled release.

Stephen Bishop has been a mainstay in the Industrial Metal scene in Texas. He was the front man for Pitbull Daycare (Cleopatra records, MIA Records) and has 3 national releases to show. PBDC toured with a wide variety of bands from Lords of Acid, to King Diamond and from The Genitorturers to Ministry and Revolting Cocks. Anyone in the Texas Industrial Metal scene will remember the always controversial and exciting stage show Bishop brought every time they played! Vocalist and rhythm guitar player, Stephen Bishop was the mastermind behind this band, but did not do It alone.

Lead guitar player, T.C. Connally, is a founding member of Pitbull Daycare and Texas Metal band Evil United aswell as Bishop’s co-conspirator in Thunder Horse. Influenced by some of the most iconic hard rock and heavy metal bands of the 60’s and 70’s, Todd brings a soulful and original style to Thunder Horse. Todd co-wrote all of the debut album songs. His history of writing, programming and visual concepts add a new dimension to the band which takes Thunder Horse over the top in the studio and live.

A big bass player needs a BIG bass so, bring on the 12-string bass and monster rig! Dave Crow, known as Uncle Dave over the past 15 years, has toured regionally throughout the southwestern United States with rockabilly band The JuJu Beans and punk band Uncle Dave’s Rock Service. During this time, these bands released a combined seven recordings collectively. Currently, Dave plays in the straight-ahead rock-n-roll outfit Scatterbone as well as a contributing writer and vocalist for Thunder Horse.

Drummer, Jason “Shakes” West is exceptionally versatile with regard to musical style, West has played in various bands ranging from rock and metal to blues and country and is also well known for his visual presence behind the kit. Most recently, West has been a writer and touring member of the Murderdolls (Slipknot’s Joey Jordison), Wednesday 13, Sebastian Bach, Pitbull Daycare (with Bishop and Connally) and Neurotica (OzzFest Veterans). Thunder Horse delivers metal that is played slow and low, with an intensity inspired from icons past and present. A wall of amps and an almost tribal rhythmic vibe produces a guttural sound with intense and mind-bending sensations. Imagine if Black Sabbath and Jane’s Addiction melded into one band and had a Pink Floyd influenced stage show with a Quadraphonic PA. THAT is Thunder Horse.
