BIO

In 2011, Bradford Johnson and Christian Peters met by chance and started a small recording project in a janitorial warehouse in Des Moines, Iowa. Titling the project MINT, their only goal was to write, record, and release a studio pop album. Soon into the project, they knew they had something special. Adding bassist Brandon Clark to the mix fully rounded out MINT’s increasingly eclectic sound. Progressing into a blend of punk, blues, pop, soul and rock & roll, they were ready to hit the stage.

In 2013, MINT released their debut EP, Chemical — a dark, beautiful record exploring fear, anger and heartbreak. An impressive live show was built, and quickly gained a loyal following. In the first 3 years of the band, MINT shared the stage with Weezer, Imagine Dragons, Young the Giant, Mutemath, Allen Stone, Jonny Lang, Buddy Guy, and numerous others. They burned a house down for a music video, licensed songs to film and television, and recorded their sophomore EP, Murder, in 2015.

In early 2016, Bradford checked himself into a drug treatment program and MINT announced its’ indefinite hiatus. After treatment, Bradford moved to Los Angeles, and 5 years went by with a focus on self-improvement in place of touring. It looked like MINT had run its course.

In October of 2021, the band unexpectedly announced their return. The boys were back. With a renewed passion, a new team, and new music and videos to be released in 2022, MINT is a force to be reckoned with. “we’ve been to hell,” says Bradford Johnson, “and we’re never going back.” MINT is here to stay.
