The Phantom Piper – Jane Espie

Jane was born in Fife, Scotland. When she was just 8 years old, her mum thought playing in a pipe band would help her lungs better cope with her asthma, and the rest is history…

Over the years, she has played for/with Saor Patrol, Celtica, Switchfoot, Young Dubliners, and opened up for international acts such as Dropkick Murphys, Within Temptation, Sepultura, just to name a few.

With Celtica, she performed at Milwaukee Irish Fest, Shamrock Fest DC, Newport RI Celtic Rock Festival (sharing stage with Dropkick Murphys), Wacken Open Air, North Texas Irish Fest, Grandfather Mountain Highland Games, New Hampshire HGs, Longs Peak Scottish Irish Highland Festival, Oklahoma Scotfest, Canmore HGs (CAN), ‘Pipes in The Valley’ Celtic Music festival, Thunder Bay Celtic Festival (CAN), Alaska HGs, Sonora Celtic Faire, a.m.m., while also touring Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, France, Spain, Croatia, Slovenia,  etc…

One of her collaborations, “The Goddesses of Bagpipes” with two other female bagpipers, yielded 26 M views on YouTube so far, and they are planning to follow up with more songs and videos.

“The Phantom Piper” has now outperformed the rest of her regular band “Celtica Nova” in regards to her popularity on Facebook (sitting at 117k followers) by a huge margin, and she just finished filming a Saturday prime time TV show in Britain (we’re not allowed to be more specific until it airs) which will further boost her popularity.
