Nour Harkati

Nour Harkati (Tunisia / USA):

Nour Harkati is a North African desert blues musician and singer-songwriter from Tunisia, based in New York, who is known for his innovative blend of traditional North African music and contemporary influences. Mastering the ancient Guembri and infusing his work with modern rhythms, Harkati crafts a unique sound that resonates deeply with diverse audiences. His lyrics combine philosophical depth with a jubilant spirit, making his music both introspective and uplifting.

His latest album, Moulena premiered worldwide on "Live on KEXP" and is an electrifying fusion of tradition and modernity. The recording features the resonant tones of the ancient Guembri paired with the gritty pulse of New York City percussion.

A vibrant homage to Nour's North African roots and a tribute to those who journey far from home, Moulena reflects eight transformative years living in New York City.  With its deep, poetic lyrics and infectious groove, Harkati marks a new chapter --where the rhythms of North Africa blend seamlessly with the vibrant energy of NYC, creating a fresh, genre-defying sound that is both thought-provoking and celebratory.
