Single Mothers
Single Mothes was started by poet and ex gold prospector Drew Thomson in London, Ontario, Canada in 2008. The band has had a constant revolving door of members and even Thomson had been out of the band at times. At one point, when Thomson was in the the Canadian North mining for gold, there were two iterations of Single Mothers going at the same time with totally different members.
The band has released 5 albums and a number of EPs all with different musicians, but have been crticially acclaimed for Thomson's lyrical wit and bite. 'Negative Qualities' and 'Through A Wall' were both noimated for prestigious June Awares in Canada.
Single Mothers have played all over North America, the UK, and Europe, with bands like The Bronx, Drug Church, Quicksand, Touche Amore, Title Fight, Pup, Enter Shakari, and many many more.
Single Mothers hit the road aggressively in 2023, and put out two albums through Dine Alone Records - 'Everything You Need' in 2022, and their most recent offering, 'Roy' in April of 2023.
